Greenhouse Staff Member

Job description: Our greenhouse staff team members support our daily operations and sales associates with a variety of tasks and responsibilities each day. This active job will allow you to enjoy the outdoors during your day and work with a family business that has been in Hinsdale for over 55 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with making deliveries in the local area
  • Unloading delivery trucks at the greenhouse
  • Restocking inventory in the sales areas
  • Watering plants both indoors and outdoors
  • Helping customers pack items and possibly carry to their vehicles
  • Helping to maintain a clean and organized greenhouse
  • Planting and transplanting duties if needed.
  • Preparing soil and growth media.
  • Move, load, and unload greenhouse grown plants.
  • Push and pull carts.
  • Tag trays.
  • Plant, weed, and water plants using hand tools.
  • Can take direction and remember daily tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Age 15+
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player – communicative, enthusiastic, and helpful
  • Plant/Garden Knowledge is a plus! We are willing to teach and train if you are willing to learn.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to remain active for majority of shift
  • Ability to work weekends

Greenhouse Sales Associates

Job description: Our greenhouse sales associates assist customers with plant selection and design, as well as a variety of tasks and responsibilities each day. This active job will allow you to enjoy the outdoors during your day and work with a family business that has been in Hinsdale for over 55 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly and efficient customer experience
  • Build rapport through customer interactions
  • Give customers suggestions to aid in their experience
  • Greet and acknowledge customers and provide superior service
  • Keeps all displays, shelves and benches full and in stock
  • Maintain customer readiness standards by keeping sales floor clean, including shelves, table tops, displays
  • Executes nightly recovery of departments through fronting and facing of shelves, sweeping and cleaning and critical product filling
  • Running a cash register and credit card sales 
  • Can follow directions and remember daily tasks
  • Assist in unloading delivery trucks if needed
  • Watering plants if needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Age 15+
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player – communicative, enthusiastic, and helpful
  • Plant/Garden Knowledge is a plus! We are willing to teach and train if you are willing to learn.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to remain active for majority of shift
  • Ability to work weekends 
  • Previous retail experience is a plus.
